Design duo David Mashburn and George Katz have linked to create Mashburn Katz
Maayan Pearl
19 May 2011Maayan Pearl was an AD at I.D and is now at Businessweek. See the pattern? I met these girls earlier this week and aside from being amazing designers, are just plain awesome people. Her present and past work ranges from editorial design to book covers to illustration / type. I don’t even know what to say about these posts anymore except that some designers are annoyingly good.
Jennifer Daniel
18 May 2011You’ve probably seen Jennifer Daniel’s work before. NY Times, Good, the usual suspects of good taste. There’s a heaping pile of humor in most of what she does, which they don’t teach in art school. I’d love to see her high school notebook doodles.
Emily Keegin
17 May 2011A little break after being busy but I’m hopefully back on a regular basis. This is Emily Keegin. She does some wonderful things with objects and a camera.
Alex Box
16 May 2011Alex Box studied and exhibited as an installation artist before training to become a make-up artist, with her main focus on relationships between the body and the environment. As a make-up artist, she went on to explore this relationship between art, science, nature and the magical. Never viewing the face as a limitation, but rather as a canvas with no boundary, Alex creates looks for designers including Gareth Pugh, Alexander McQueen, Biba and Chanel. She is also the Creative Director for the make-up brand she developed, Illamasqua.

Neche Collection
12 May 2011Veronica Corzo-Duchardt, founder of winterbureau here in Chicago, recently started a new side project called Neche Collection.
In her words…
Neche Collection visually documents materials collected by my grandfather Neche Eugenio Hadad. A Cuban Exile of Lebanese descent, accountant, collector and sometimes thief. I acquired many of his belongings. I created this project to be both an archive and a source of continued inspiration.
The project consists of a daily photo post from the collection and each week I create and print a limited edition screen print inspired by one or more of the objects feature in the collection that week.
