A pretty robust modular music production app in your browser.  Synths, drum machines, effects pedals. . .  shows the potential Actionscript 3 has with audio.
This is connected to a whole creative community type thing with forums and user generated content and the whole bit.

Not sure If you’ll read this David. . .
I’m wondering, I read somewhere that this was ported from Java to AS3 or something. What exactly is the technology under the hood, and is there somewhere I can find out how exactly the synths and effects and things work? If this is purely AS3 manipulating sound at the “molecular” level I’d love to know more about how it’s working.

Hey Brendan.

The application was not ported from Java. Java was used in the previous version to work around a sound issue with Flash accessing the sound hardware.

The application is done fully in Flash AS3. You may read the Hobnox Audiotool Blog here: http://www.hobnox.com/index.946.html?blgproject_handle=Reef2

Hey Brendan,
sorry I missed your one comment, but glad Oliver already answered your question. Yes, the tool is developed fully in Flash.

I hope this helps – if you have more questions, the best would be to send me an email.

Cheers, David
