AIGA China has asked us to help promote their upcoming design competition. Here are the details:
The ultimate Chinese cultural symbol is the dragon. And in anticipation of the auspicious year, AIGA China has partnered with PoloArts to support the first annual China International Design Competition: 2012 Year of the Dragon. The competition aims to promote communication, exchange and interaction between China and the rest of the world by encouraging designers to create innovative work based around the theme of the Chinese dragon.
Entries will be accepted through September 27, 2011 in the areas of Graphic Design, Digital and Multi-Media Design, Installation Design, and Product Design. See www.cidc2012.org for entry requirements. A panel of judges comprised of well-respected international designers and Chinese celebrities will award significant cash prizes. One hundred winning works will be exhibited at Beijing’s Capital Museum in January 2012.

This October, with the help of the Kickstarter community, a small group of filmmakers, photographers and musicians are setting out on a journey to explore the remote countryside of Iceland and document our experiences with the landscape, residents and traditions we encounter. The end result, a beautifully packaged box set of the film and companion soundtrack, will be released to backers of the project as a physical artifact of the unique and awe-inspiring experience. We can’t wait to share the results with you.
See the teaser, read more about it, and help fund the project here.
We’ve been hard at work stocking the TSA Bookshelf. There are lots of new titles in there from independently published zines to top selling design books. We’ll be adding new books often along with some sorting functionality, as the resource grows.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed. For details on how to add yours, click here.
