Droog Design and Scott Burnham have assembled a team of some of the most innovative designers and architects from around the world to create 13 newly designed interventions, tools, toys and objects that are temporarily placed along a route on the central IJ-riverfront in Amsterdam.

Christoph Niemann is an illustrator living in Berlin. His work has appeared on numerous New Yorker covers, The NY Times Magazine, Atlantic Monthly… He’s also the author of a couple of children’s books – his new one, “The Pet Dragon,” teaches kids about Chinese characters. On the side he writes for the NY Times Opinion Art Blog, Abstract City – which currently has a really great post on the artful design process of his new bathroom.

Fascinating article on Metallica’s new brand identity over at Brand New. They’ve elected to use Turner Duckworth, one of the larger branding ships out there (Coke, Amazon, etc), to update their logo and create album artwork/collateral for their latest release.
